Tallulah is now officially retired and is living her best life as a farm dog. She always wants to be right next to you or on the most comfy couch or swing she can find!

Our Males!

Dublin is an AKC registered miniature poodle (approximately 16 lbs) that we have used as a stud for both Ginger and Tallulah for their previous litters. Tallulah and Dublin’s puppies were absolutely beautiful last time so we decided to have her breed with him again! Dublin lives in GA and is with a friend of ours!

Becks is an almost 2 year old AKC registered miniature poodle (approx 14 lbs)! He is proven as a stud and carries parti, red and abstract. Becks lives in Clarksville, TN with an active duty military hero.

Guardian Home Opportunities

What is a Guardian home?

A guardian home enables us to continue to grow our breeding program while at the same time ensuring that every dog is cared for in the most effective way possible! We know we have a limit on the number of dogs that we can have on our farm. All of our dogs are our family pets first and we want to make sure we can spend plenty of time with each of them! Basically a guardian home provides an amazing puppy to your family while we retain the breeding rights and opportunities.

How it works?

Puppies Born!

We have two litters that are set to be born in the next few days! Your family pays the normal $500 deposit for the puppy and that is all of the money that will be required for the dog. We will work together to pick out the perfect pup right after they are born. The dog will come home to your house at the normal 8 weeks and will be your dog to raise, care for and enjoy!

Time to Breed!

When your pup enters their second heat cycle at approximately 18 months (this can vary significantly from dog to dog) we will arrange for her to be bred with a male poodle (most likely at our farm). The pup will come to stay with us for approximately 1 week or less to ensure she is bred.

Time for Puppies!

At approximately 63 days the puppies will be ready to be born and just before then the mama will come back to our farm to get settled and the haver the pups. She will stay with us while she is nursing the pups and caring for them. After they are weaned at approximately 7-8 weeks she will return back home to you! You are more than welcome to visit her at any point during her stay!! To help cover the ongoing expenses of grooming and vet appointments we will pay you a stipend per healthy puppy that is born.

We will work with our veterinarians to determine the number of times breeding should actually take place for each dog. On average 4-5 times is recommended and those to be in subsequent heat cycles ie. heat cycles 2-6. However, every dog is different and we will work closely with a professional to ensure the health of the dog is our first priority!

After we all agree that she is ready to stop breeding we will haver her spayed (at our expense) and she would continue to be your family’s forever dog!

Who is ideal for a guardian home?

Anyone who has the time to take care of a new puppy and has the desire to make sure it has the opportunity to be socialized around children and other animals. Finally we ask that our guardian homes are within 3 hours of the farm.

Puppy Resources!

One of the most common questions we get asked after people commit to bringing home a pup is what do we need to take care of our pup?!? Food, brushes, toys etc. We wanted to provide a list of items that we use (or a similar type of item that we use). Full Disclosure - Below are affiliate links that do allow us to get paid a small amount if your purchase using them.

Food/Shampoo/Dog Treats/Toys etc.

We raise your puppies on **pawTree food **and recommend the brand for the life of your puppy. The food is made in the US and sourced in the US (with the exception of duck from France and B vitamins from Germany) and we have spoken with the CEO and are confident in the supply chain for the duration of the pandemic. The only thing they don’t have control over is Fedex, but we also don’t expect Fedex to be shutting down, although shipments can be slower right now. For food, our puppies go home eating Chicken and Sweet Potato formula. We also made some recommendations besides food as well!

The company has allowed us to create a custom shopping page with our recommendations here:

ORDER FOOD HERE

You can get free shipping if you order 3 non-food products and sign up for an EZ ship (it’s a recurring order, but you can cancel at any time)

There’s a special for 20% off your first order (if over $100), please use the coupon code INTRO4U. This offer is for new pawTree customers—this can only be used on your first order.

Crate

We love a dog crate - it provides a safe space for your pup and a place to keep them out of trouble when they are young and curious. We use this type with the divider.

Brush

Every doodle owner needs a good brush (or 3!). Brushes come in all shapes and sizes (and costs) This is an inexpensive brush that is a good starter. We tend to buy the less expensive ones here bc ours tend to get chewed on! This is the one we use!

Comb

A comb is perfect for working through a mat or getting dirt/mud out of your pup’s coat. They are fairly standard and we like this one!

Nail Trimmer

Nail trimmers can be tricky. We’ve tried the grinders and the clippers. Clippers are inexpensive and fairly easy to use but you can cut too much if you aren’t careful. This is the one we recommend. We will get a recommendation for a grinder posted soon! (These are easy to use and hard to cut too much!)
